Mask Stack

0:00 / 0:59

The Mask stack is a powerful feature of texture projects that allows the layering of different types of masks on top of each other and isolating specific areas of a model to apply different material types.

One of the key benefits of the masking stack in Toolbag is its flexibility. It allows combining multiple masks and adjusting their opacity and blend modes. Furthermore, layers in the mask stack can have their own masks, allowing even more precise control over the final result. All layer types can be used as masks, which makes it easier for users to mix and match different layer types and create complex masking setups that target specific areas of their models with different effects.

Note: Too many layers in the Mask Stack can slow down performance, especially on lower-end machines. One way to solve this would be to optimize the number of layers in the Mask Stack. Users can merge multiple masks into a single layer or adjust existing layers’ blending modes and opacity to achieve similar results with fewer layers.

Additionally, users can consider adjusting Toolbag’s settings to prioritize performance over visual quality.
